Is he better known without the glasses or perhaps, with glasses of a different frame?

Charles Grodin?

I think he’s known with glasses and, without hair. Even in this role, he’s a little bald in the back.

Oh, I never know these, but is this Bob Balaban?

Yes, it’s Bob Balaban as Grady Garrett in “Fathers and Sons,” an episode of Room 222 (November 19, 1969), his one appearance on the show, and his fourth appearance in TV or film. Also in this episode as Grady’s parents: WIlliam Schallert (Martin Lane in The Patty Duke Show) and Ann Morgan Guilbert (Mille Helper in The Dick Van Dyke Show, Yetta in The Nanny).

Oddly enough, I thought about the show “Room 222” this past weekend. I looked through his credits to see where I might have seen him and found out that it was in “2010: The Year We Make Contact”

I know him best from Seinfeld, Ghost World, and Christopher Guest movies.

Our household is on a Room 222 binge. I read in the program notes for a concert that Taylor-Coleridge Perkinson (whose music I was hearing) wrote the theme for the show. No, that was Jerry Goldsmith. T-CP must have written some of the incidental music. Anyway, reading the program notes is what started it.
