paul williams?
My fisrst thought was, due to the glasses, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
That was fast. Yes, that’s Paul Williams (billed as Paul H. Williams) as Gunther Fry in The Loved One (1965).
Well, I remember The Loved One, based on an Evelyn Waugh book and with a Terry Southern screenplay, but Paul Williams would have been 25 in 1965, and he looks like a sprat in that photo. Youthful demeanor.
Yep. I recognized him from his voice.
This photo was a little creepy to me at first blush. There's something childish about the hands, and something both childish and adult about the head . . . or the way the pose was captured that makes it appear so.
The character seems to be a boy genius of rocketry, much younger than the actor himself.
