The banana man I misunderstood. Now with what really happened, which is even more ridiculous.

  1. Speaking of bananas, was your comment on my blog about seeing Michael Cera in an ice cream shop serious, or was that a joke about Bluth’s Frozen Bananas?

  2. No joke! (I had to look up Bluth’s just now.) Michael Cera was at a place called Scoops. A table of young adults recognized him and asked to take a picture with him. Instead, he offered to take their picture. Later he was walking outside eating his ice cream, as we were, at some distance. And we saw an idiot slow his car to a crawl so that he could take picture after picture of Michael Cera walking and eating ice cream. The protocol in Los Angeles is that if you see a celebrity, you keep your cool and leave them alone. They’re everywhere.

  3. For real! It was probably banana ice-cream, then.

  4. Hmm — did they have that? I remember Guinnes and Earl Grey, my two scoops.

  5. now that makes the story even worse.

i think nycer's are more blase about celebrities. my dad told me about seeing foster brooks on the street and no one paying him any attention.

i saw j alexander (aka ms j) at the airport in savannah some years ago (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Alexander_(model)). he is a very tall (6 ft) and you can't miss him in an airport. i looked at him and he looked at me and we both just smiled.

  6. Oops — Guinness.

Kirsten, you’d like this post: https://mleddy.blogspot.com/2008/02/mildred-bailey-stars-and-us.html. I’m glad that I collected all those details when I did. And that I realized soon enough that you weren’t referring to Jason Alexander. :)

Play fair. Keep it clean. No potshots and no derailing. Thanks.
