I’ve seen him on television at least a hundred times. But on film — that was a surprise. Do you recognize him? Leave your best guess in the comment. I’ll drop a clue if needed.

Here’s a hint: this actor is probably best known today for playing a dancer.

Oh well. The answer is now in the comments.

Is it the prosecutor from Perry Mason? (Too lazy to look up his name.)
ReplyDeleteFred McMurry
ReplyDeleteNo to both. I’ll add a hint to the post.
ReplyDeleteI guess no one’s going to get this one. The actor is Charles Korvin, seen here in Berlin Express (dir. Jacques Tourneur, 1948) as Henri Perrot, “once a member of the French underground, now a man of commerce.”
ReplyDeleteToday Korvin is probably best remembered as Carlos Sanchez, neighbor and mambo dancer in The Honeymooners episode “Mama Loves Mambo” (March 3, 1956). And yes, I think I’ve seen that epsiode at least a hundred times.
Oh of course. There's no missing that chin but I couldn't place him.
ReplyDeleteHe’s in the Kramdens’ apartment, teaching everyone how to mambo. :)
