Might someone have an idea why a store would be wiped out of Premium Saltines days before Thanksgiving? Is there some traditional dish that makes use of them? I welcome your thoughts.

What? Haven't you heard of the famous Thanksgiving Sardine Canapés... on Saltines?
LOL
Really, I have no idea. Supply chain issues?
That was my guess. But I thought there might be some dish I don’t know about.
F’rinstance, I didn’t know about green bean casserole until I hit the midwest.
Btw, I think sardine canapés are a food for all seasons. (Saltines, no kidding, might be the best accompaniment for sardines. They even rhyme.)
I've been reading your blog too long — I thought it said "Premium Sardines"!
I just checked to make sure I really typed Saltines. Phew.
Here's a tower

Yeah, and also "salad" is a concoction of Jell-O, canned fruit, and Cool Whip here in the Midwest. :)
Thanks for the tower, reader.
I’ve seen a Jell-O mold — once — but did not partake. And now I know how to spell Jell-O.
Cracker stuffing is a thing, I think?
so is cracker pie (think salty graham cracker crust)
and I spose there could be some cracker breading going on, too... anyone have tendies for Turkey Day?
Thanks for the suggestions, Chris. My cracker-pie awareness has been limited to Ritz's mock apple pie. Must investigate.
