Thanks for this! I am trying to figure out how to listen to music, and what to listen to... This is good.
He was — and, through his records, is — an amazing resource. He opened my ears to the Carter Family, Jimmie Rogers, and the Blue Sky Boys, among others (though I still haven’t bought a BSB record).
The Blue Sky Boys "Turn Your Radio On" is one of my favorite songs!

Did you notice the five cassette decks on the shelf? He sold cassette tapes made from his 78s.
I hadn't noticed the cassettes---sort of touching, in these days...
