“Apparently” and “definitely”

Liz Cheney: “An apparently inebriated Rudy Giuliani.”

Jason Miller, Trump campaign senior advisor: “The mayor was definitely intoxicated.”

[On election night Giuliani advised Trump to claim that he had won. Liz Cheney is more cautious in her phrasing, and rightly so. But if it’s “America’s mayor,” he was definitely intoxicated.]

Some of us may even reach for the always useful: "allegedly" although a few might argue that is more legally oriented. Sometimes it's the best!
