Today’s Hi and Lois marks, to my knowledge, the second time a resonator guitar has appeared in the strip. Two were on display last November, when Chip was in a music store to — I think — get his guitar strings changed. Maybe he walked out with another guitar?

Oh my. But notice, I didn’t say that the absence of frets was a mistake. :)
Quite true. However, I may have to reference you when I try explaining to my wife exactly why I need another guitar.;)
As Elaine says, an instrument will only increase in value. Feel free to cite that observation.
. . . For less than pennies a day, over the next few decades you can have as much musical enjoyment as you want. The price of an instrument is an investment in happiness. You can quote me.
But I already have so much happiness.
