I laughed.

I thought you would. : )

It was the (an?) episode with Ricardo Montalban. Shatner was falling out of a chair in agony.

Ah, yes—“Space Seed”— the episode the Star Trek: Wrath of Khan movie is based on.
Shatner is perfect as Kirk, but acting?
Is that what he’s doing?
Lol

Look up the Naked City episodes with Young Shatner — “Portrait of a Painter,” “Without Stick or Sword” — same affect. (They’re still at YouTube.)

With domestic comedy posts, I almost never identify who said what, but I have to say that Elaine had the winning line here.

I'm going against the grain here. Every now wad then (too often) Shatner goes over the top. But when he's good, he's very good. His facial expressions and body language in The Trouble with Tribbles are perfection.

All perspectives welcome!

His style of acting was perfect for Kirk!
I will add that my Trekkie friend Marz agrees with Slywy--she says Shatner is a good actor. At least sometimes.

I saw Shatner do his one-man show "It's Shatner's World", and he was very good--unexpectedly (to me) powerful telling stories about his own life. But inhabiting the role of yourself is a very specific kind of acting.
