The New York Times has a challenge: read ten short pieces of writing and figure out which ones were generated by a chatbot and which ones were written by children.
I got nine of ten right. (I was tricked by one small feature in one passage.)

Interesting. I got only three of ten right. Mostly, I mistook "real kids" writing for chatbot writing: I guess it's because I was expecting the chatbot to "try too hard" to sound like a kid.
To my ear the chatbot text sounded too bright and cheery, with few specifics. The one that tricked me was one with the typo for president — I didn’t realize that the user could specify that typos be included.
