I saved Thursday’s strip because I’m a sap about fall. I didn’t realize until I looked again today just how clever Olivia Jaimes is.

[Yes, there’s a typo. A typo, not a lettering mistake, since Nancy, like so many comic strips, uses a digital typeface.]

I don’t know much about digital typefaces, but why would anyone think that misspelling CAMPFIRE is a lettering mistake? I thought that lettering mistakes refer to errors in the shapes of or spacing between letters.
Really a typo rather than a misspelling. I’m sure Olivia Jaimes knows how to spell “campfire.” “Lettering” because that’s an element in comic strips, writing in the words by hand.
Did you notice the haiku?
5-7-5? I missed it. When it comes to poetry, I’m tone deaf.
That’s it. Easy to miss — that kind of that playfulness is not usually found in a comic strip.
