Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), speaking to reporters: “We don’t have to authorize ... military operations.”
I saw this bit on ABC World News Tonight. It’s not yet at YouTube — I’ll link when it shows up there. When it does, see if you agree with me that Graham caught himself when he was about to say war.
The current occupant has, of course, no qualms about using the w-word.

YouTube now has tonight’s broadcast. The moment that caught my eye comes at the 15:02 mark.

lucian truscott iv had a great read on this yesterday. as he wrote: "It’s perfect, in a twisted, horrid, unthinkable way: They not only don’t know what they’re doing, they can’t even agree on what to call it." his column: https://luciantruscott.substack.com/p/five-days-of-bombs-over-1000-dead

Thanks, Kirsten. Cross my heart, before I got to the last sentences I thought of Putin’s “peacekeeping operations” in Ukraine. (I hear someone on a local NPR station use that language years ago.)
Do you think Graham was about to say “war”?
absolutely he was about to say "war"! he's old school and can't help himself from saying it.
