From Oxford Dictionaries, a handy list of words commonly misspelled. One word that always confounds me, not that I have much reason to use it: pharaoh, because a certain tenor saxophonist, last name Sanders, spells his first name Pharoah.

I have a total block about vaccuum vacuum vaccum and can't even come up with a mnemonic to help me, so I look it up every. single. time.
Like now.
It's vacuum.
Oh! Hey, geez--I never thought---it's like vacuous! OMG! I never saw that. Duh... Maybe I'll remember it now.
Another unusual vowel sequence, like pharaoh.
I see an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic:
By gum, it's a pharaoh vacuuming!
And saying “The afterlife sucks”?
I have the same problem and I blame it on Farrell "Pharoah" Sanders, one of my favorite tenor saxophonists; a soft-spoken player with a powerful tone.
