Halloween recap

Business was down: just ten trick-or-treaters across three hours, with three grown-ups accompanying younger visitors to the door, and two more grown-ups lurking at a distance. We gave away Reese’s Mini Pumpkins, Skittles, and — best of all — Staedtler Norica pencils (the stylin’ black ones).

I told a group of five older kids that even though the pencils have erasers, they do not make mistakes. “It’ll help me get an A,” one kid said. I liked that.

When our electrician installed a new outdoor light fixture for us a few weeks ago, he mentioned Halloween in passing, and we compared numbers. He lives in a corner house at a prominent intersection and gets 600 kids. (What?!)

Pencils, like computers, are subject to similar data input errors.
