An alert looker-at-tax-photos noticed the manicule on the wall next to the building in last Sunday’s tax photograph. It’s one scary manicule.

As for the pictures in this picture: Aloma of the South Seas (dir. Alfred Santell) was released on August 27, 1941; Badlands of Dakota (dir. Alfred E. Green) on September 15, 1941; A Yank in the R.A.F. (dir. Henry King) on September 25, 1941; and The Maltese Falcon (dir. John Huston) on October 18, 1941. I know which picture I would have been seeing.
Today the property where this building once stood is the approximate location of Hand Wash Car & Auto Detailing, whose entrance is around the corner on Stillwell Avenue.

Nice pairing with the hand holding the address sign. I enjoy these photos you post very much-/thanks!
I will keep on!
This manicule could never be ridiculed as miniscule
It's majestic, even if a bit gritty.
