[Marcel Herrand as Pierre-Françoise Lacenaire, in Children of Paradise (1945). Pat Harrington Jr. as Dwayne Schneider, in One Day at a Time (c. 1975–1984).]
The resemblance is so strong: could it have been deliberate?

July 31, 2024: In a comment, a reader suggested a missing triplet, Sir Norman Wisdom O.B.E. as Giulio Napolitani in the British comedy On The Beat (1962). I see it! I see it!
Thanks, reader.

LOL
From Children of Paradise to One Day at a Time---that's some interfilmic stretch--love to ponder what the six degrees of separation are... :)
If there is a path, my guess is that it might begin with Jacques Prévert. Pat Harrington Jr. must have known someone who recorded “Autumn Leaves” who knew someone who knew someone who ... Prévert.
Shoot. Pat Harrington Jr. died in 2016--I was going to suggest you write to him and ask... I guess we'll never know.
I guess it has to remain a mystery of television.
Sir Norman Wisdom O.B.E. playing high society hairdresser Julio Neapolitani in the British comedy film 'On The Beat'(1962)is the remaining piece of the triplet seperated at birth to Marcel Herrand as Pierre-Françoise Lacenaire, in Children of Paradise (1945) and Pat Harrington Jr. as Dwayne Schneider, in One Day at a Time (c. 1975–1984) being the other two brothers.
Great! And thank you. I can see the resemblance in the trailer at the IMDb. Give me a little time and I’ll make it known in the post.
