Domestic comedy

“Just so you know — it’s pronounced Stōffer’s.”

“What did I say?”

Stauffer’s. Just so you don’t embarrass yourself in public.”

“I wouldn’t embarrass myself. It’s not like a shibboleth — except among the astronauts.”

Despite living this long I don't think I've ever heard "shibboleth" pronounced correctly---I would argue that this is the one word that does have a correct pronunciation. I've heard people say the word but I can't be sure that what they say is how it's pronounced.

Ha! I’ve read that the astronauts debated the pronunciation of shibboleth over frozen dinners.
