A new shopping list for a snowy day: bread, milk, anchovies, garlic, Italian parsley, &c. Above, pasta aglio e olio, a nice dish for being stuck inside.

Anchovies, hunh? That's one thing that will never be swept off the shelves around here when a serious snow storm is forecast for this part of the woods!
Oh, dear! Your post has triggered a sudden and intense yearning for the anchovy pizza I used to get in the rathskeller at Great Lakes Hospital (Waukegan)when I was stationed there for Corps School. I think I'll run to the grocery for pizza makings, t-p (I'm on the last roll, so it's not just because it's snowing, honest)and coffee.
Your question got me thinking of a line in a Fats Waller recording: “Anchovies? Sweet Caesar, what a break!”
Enjoy the pizza!
Swell. Now I am hungry, too. Ever since our son left home, no one to share the anchovy passion with!
I didn’t mean to make anyone hungry, honest. : )
Anchovy Council, please take note.
