All of these are in my old neighborhood! Did you notice that two are next to mailboxes, and two are next to newspaper vending machines? A dwindling oasis of what are now "old time" civilized tools to have contact with the world outside of the island.
And one is next to one of the mysterious (to me, anyway) green boxes where the mail gets stored.
Really, mysterious? As a former mailman I can tell you anything you want to know about the mysterious green mailboxes. Once when I got sick I sat in one.
Mysterious in the way that, say, a tollbooth's interior is mysterious — most people haven't seen what's in there.
