This is sad news. I have several records (yes, the vinyl kind) on which he plays, some of which I have had for over 40 years. I still enjoy listening to him as much as I did on the first day! Now playing “Melting Pot” by Booker T. & the M.G.'s.
His playing makes me think of what people say about a great drummer: he served the song, or the music. Not flashy, just right.
