My daughter’s humormeter

My daughter Rachel sent me a short clip from an episode of Jeopardy. The category is Buzzed Words, for $1000:

“Millennials helped popularize this term meaning both excited & drunk; rapper Roscoe Dash called it the 2010 version of ‘crunk.’ Curtis?”

“What is ‘lit’?”

“Not ‘lit.’ Zach or Hannah?”

[Silence, followed by a beep.]

“What is ‘turnt’? For the first time, a Jeopardy response: ‘turnt.’”
Rachel’s humormeter is perfectly calibrated: she sent me this clip because I once told a class that her wedding (which I was leaving town to attend) would be turnt. I got exactly the laugh I had hoped for with my deliberately ludicrous slang.

And I will add that according to Urban Dictionary, events, as well as people, can be turnt. One definition: “Like hype for a party, or at the club!”
