Now you’ve got me curious: Can you give some examples of what wouldn’t have gotten past?
Well, the extended glimpse of that guy reading The Well of Loneliness, for one. And many bits of suggestive dialogue and suggestive situations.
I’m reading this on the city bus, and I literally laughed out loud at the expression on the guy’s face.
I can identify. It’s one of the more startling pre-Code moments I’ve seen.
