Elaine and I like an expensive-ish oat-and-honey granola that we call FPC, or Fancy Pants Cereal. Yesterday we bought a box of the Aldi version, which, it turns out, is just as good and much less expensive-ish. So we have decided to call this cereal UPC: Underpants Cereal.

That reminds me of a term my family recently came up with: a “sweatpants couch.” It’s a couch that’s ugly and unstylish, but really, really comfortable.
I dig. On certain cold-weather days, only sweatpants will do.
No Aldi's here, only Trader Joe's. Is it like a Euro Wal-Mart or a French Tarjay?
Aldi Nord, owner of Trader Joe’s, and Aldi Süd, owner of Aldi, are sister companies. But Aldi is low-cost, house brands, and full of surprises. Their Moser Roth dark chocolate is a staple in our house.
Anything dark chocolate is fine by me. I heard something about North and South but is Aldi separate from both?
Aldi is owned by Aldi Süd.
