Our daughter Rachel and her husband Seth have announced the birth of their daughter Talia, born not yesterday but the day before yesterday, Thursday, October 12. Talia weighed in at seven pounds, thirteen ounces. Everybody is doing just fine.
[“We’re excited you’re here!”: now the blog-description line makes another kind of sense. Yes, Talia, we are!]

Happy birthday!
Oh my goodness, what a darling little samurai bundle of excellence!!!
Congrats on your whale of a granddaughter! <3 <3 <3

Thanks, Sean and Fresca. This is one baby who loves to be swaddled. (Unlike her mom, as I remember very well.)
Ah, such a beautiful burrito of love. My first two weren't much for it, but if we had not discovered the joy of swaddling with no. 3, we'd have had to drop him down a well if we were ever to sleep. In any event: Congratulations to Seth and Rachel and to you as well, Gramps.
Thanks, Mister B.
Congratulations!
Thanks, Diane.
Big news! Congratulations to all the adults, and welcome to Talia!
Bundled as she is in the photo, she looks like a pupa about to burst forth and spread her wings. Fly high, little butterfly; see the world anew, with fresh eyes. Maybe your interpretations of what you see will provide new insights for the rest of us.
Congratulations, parents...and grands!
Thanks, Pat, and thanks, Martha.
