From The New York Times (gift link):
The Supreme Court ruled Friday that President Trump exceeded his authority when he imposed sweeping tariffs on imports from nearly every U.S. trading partner, a major setback for his administration’s second-term agenda. As my daughter would say, Holy moly!
The court’s 6-3 decision has significant implications for the U.S. economy, consumers and the president’s trade policy. The Trump administration had said that a loss at the Supreme Court could force the government to unwind trade deals with other countries and potentially pay hefty refunds to importers.
There are other exclamations that come to mind as well.

i was shocked! shocked! that this came out this way. this is going to be a huge financial mess. the only question is will companies lower their prices now that the tariffs aren't applicable? and will importers refund their customers who paid it?

Gee, I wonder who ruled against the majority?

I imagine there’ll be much litigation to come.
In the minority: Alito, Kavanaugh, Thomas.
I am annoyed at "potentially pay back" or "maybe pay back" the collected tariffs. Why? Because back when the very first court case was won, but appealed, the terms were that IF the appeals (up to the Supreme Court, if need be) failed THEN the money would be returned, the understanding being that the IRS was very good at keeping informed.
I'm annoyed at being the only one who still remembers.
I don't think you are the only one, Sean. This question was all over the PBS NewsHour tonight.
