Yes. It's spelled the ordinary way in Hi's speech balloon, so I assume it's a joke, though I'm not how.
To the commenter who wrote of happy endings: your comment did publish, but for some reason it's not showing up.
The lazy digital cut and paste art of the strip in recent years drives me bananas. More than once they left in a head with the wrong expression. But I assume it's not like the syndicate is throwing much money at comic strips anymore, so ....
I got my start with Hi and Lois in 2008, when Trixie appeared in the front seat of the car on a family vacation. Gah! I always look, even if I want to look away, and I can’t help seeing things when I look.
