“Devout nonbeliever.” I like it!
ReplyDeleteI’ve never liked the word “atheist,” though I’m not sure how “nonbeliever” differs. But to my mind, “nonbeliever” suggests a detachment from any particular dogma, rather than a denial of some numinous reality.
