From The Borowitz Report, “Turning Off the News”:
I’m not a neuroscientist like George Santos, but in my experience, turning off the news is good for your mental health. And you’ll have more time for things you actually enjoy. Read a novel. See a friend. Walk your dog. Which is what I’m going to do right now.I don’t have a dog. But I’m still going to go for a walk. Now.

Every morning I take a quick look at the headlines at the websites of the New York Times, the BBC, and the Guardian. These days that tells me more than I want to know. The one thing I make a point of keeping up with is the obituary section. After that, I'm done for the day, unless someone makes a point of telling me something that happened (usually bad news). Somehow human beings managed to function in the pre-electronic world.
I’m doing much the same, with Heather Cox Richardson’s daily post in the morning and The Late Show for some comic relief at night. I even figured out how to not have MSNBC come on as the default in YouTubeTV.
