From the latest installment of Heather Cox Richardson’s Letters from an American, posted thirty-three minutes ago:
I just got a text from a Gen Z voter in Michigan who has been in line to vote for more than an hour and predicts he will be there hours more. He has no intention of leaving. If there is an obvious story from today with results still unknown, it is this: a new generation is picking up the torch of our democracy.

It's a disgrace that anybody has to wait that long in line to vote. How many people get discouraged, or simply can't get away from their other responsibilities for that long? But clearly there are people who have an interest in perpetuating the problem, at least when it occurs in certain polling districts. (Where I live I've never had to wait more than five minutes or so, plus we have early voting.)
As Stacey Abrams said, “Voter suppression isn’t designed to stop all voting. It is designed to create barriers for some voters. The more reductive way to put it is, just because more people get in the water, it doesn’t mean there are fewer sharks.”
