I debated whether to post this panel. Elaine’s response — “What is that?” — made the decision easy. That is a colorist’s oversight, turning pajamas into flesh. Too little green and TMH — Too Much Hi. Or else Hi has had his pajama pattern tattooed onto his pasty midsection. And in that case, too, Too Much Hi.

I’ve added a close-up below. You can click on it for a larger, better (?) view.

Skepticism about the patch abounds in the comments. So I’ve made a fleshy revision. If that patch is supposed to be Hi, I think his pajamas are riding way too low. TML: Too Much Low. But the crossed lines still say to me TMH.

No, that's the folds of skin and flesh around a slender man's belly button region when his body id folded that way. Take a look sometime at your abdomen when you do one of those half-sit-ups. Of course, the vertical one could be his hairline. Don't know for sure; just guessing...and remembering. :)
Or part of Hi's stick figure skeleton, showing where hips and upper thigh would be?
(I like my first guess better.)
Either way, TMH!
Okay; one last remark then I'll quit: air displaced when he plopped on the bed lifted the tail of his pj top. I think the drawing would look ill-drawn without it, unless he tucks the shirt-tail in? I mean, who does that?!
I'm done now.
Absolutely, his shirt should be billowing up. But I think those straight lines mean that the little patch is supposed to be pajama pants. It wouldn’t be the first time colors went wrong. Here’s a choice example, with the color missing from a blue shirt.
I'm pretty sure that's meant to be his belly. It's probably one of the times the colorist got it right. :)
But what is that whoosh of white?
That’s the joy of his jump back into bed, which is odd, because he was just sitting on his own side of the bed.
I revised this panel to make a midriff. But I still think it’s PJs.
Perhaps the lines signify he is a Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Turtle, and that's the shell of his underbelly?
Creepy to think of the private parts of Hi...
Just ask Lois.
