The last thing Democrats need to do is to turn the 2020 presidential election into a battle between oldsters. Such a battle will do little to spark voter interest and much to spark parody. Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren: no.
What the Democratic Party needs is a candidate who offers a sharp contrast to Donald Trump not only in policy but in affect. Sherrod Brown, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke: yes.

A political thought

I agree on Sanders and Biden (noooooooo, Biden!) but would point out that Sherrod Brown (1952) is only three years younger than Elizabeth Warren (1949). Is it the 1950 cutoff you're thinking of? For me, it's the age of 70, I think. Which she almost is, true, and will be by the election.
Thinking of Biden, Sanders, and Warren, I thought “seventy” — and much older. I checked Brown’s age and was surprised to see that he’s sixty-six. I think he presents as younger than that.
I agree he does. I think Warren presents as younger than her age as well... strategic hair dye, perhaps.
