Here’s a forty-six-year-old description of the Minetta Tavern, from Harold H. Hart’s Hart’s Guide to New York City (1964).

Ah, the Minetta. Last time I walked by, it was boarded up, either for refurbishing or demolition. It wasn't so great in its last years, but I'd go in to look at a wonderful, original pencil portrait that hung on the wall of the legendary Joe Gould, who used to hold court there.
It’s rather upscale now, even by NY standards.
Adair, are you writing anywhere? I for one would be happy to read.
