From The Washington Post, while I still have gift links to share:
The National Park Service has removed transgender references from its website commemorating the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, erasing transgender activists such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera who were central to the movement for LGBTQ+ rights....“Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date”: Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the language of the novel’s world, Johnson, Rivera, et al. are now unpersons.
No one at The Stonewall Inn was notified of the change to the website, according to Stacy Lentz, co-owner of the Stonewall Inn and CEO of the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative. She views the removal as an erasure of both LGBTQ+ history and American history. “We would not have Pride, we would not have the Stonewall riots if it was not for trans people,” she said in a phone call from the Stonewall Inn.

I guess people in this time are finding comfort songs. For me I have a scrap in my head, "one day the bottom will fall out."
History tells us that when Senator McCarthy held up a list of names as evidence, that none of the reporters demanded to see the list, just nobody in the White House press corps will confront Musk saying there are 105 year olds taking social security.
Oh well. One day the folks all stopped being fooled by the invincible McCarthy. I can only hope history will repeat.
I saw the clip where’s he holding up a piece of paper — “McCarthy” was the first thing to come to mind. It infuriates me when members of the press refuse to push back on the evasions, wild claims, and blatant lies.
I just can’t get over how quickly some of these agencies and individuals are caving. Did they not mean it all along? Where is their honor?
But some are fighting back in the courts. I wonder how the damage already done will ever be undone.
This week some folks at DOJ resigned thrasher than drop the case against the NY mayor. And let's not forget that earlier, rather than bin in advance, some folks resigned when the newspaper oligarchs would not let them run an editorial endorsing Kamala Harris.
I daydream that early in 2029 a new president invites them all to Washington to stand among each other and receive the thanks of a nation.
(signed, not anon but Sean Crawford)
That scenario, with Bove giving them one hour to decide who’s going to take the fall — it’s mob stuff. I hope your daydream becomes a reality when enough people wake up.
