“White House” (Executive Branch Song)

It dropped this afternoon. A new song by Ben Leddy, with Madelaine Eulich, Andrew Levine, Audrey Pindell, and Zakaria Sherbiny. Like Ben’s other pop-takeoffs, it aims to make elements of history and government memorable for the young. The inspiration here is Flo Rida’s “My House” (which, I will admit, I had never heard of before Ben told me about his song).

There’s a karaoke version so that students and teachers can sing along.

More songs at Ben’s YouTube channel.

There’s one by Madness too. “Our house, in the middle of our street.”

Okay, I feel like the grandmotherly-type family friend who is so pleased and proud she just wants to squeeze his cheeks...hope that doesn't come off too creepy.

I was dancing in my chair the first listen-to, but got up and busted some moves on the second, you hear whut I'm sayin'?!

So, when are you going to produce roadie/fan T-shirts and set up a fund-raising site? I take a 2XLT in men's shirt and I love the color purple.

I'm passing his YouTube channel on to as many people I can think will enjoy this as much as I do. His work is better than Schoolhouse Rock, which I used to watch with my daughter years ago.

Thanks for those good words, Martha, and for passing the link on. I’ll make sure Ben sees your comment.

Thanks for your kind words, Martha! I really appreciate you sharing the YouTube channel. My hope is to get these songs to as many kids and teachers as possible.

If t-shirts are ever in the works, you'll be the first to know!

Ben

Uh...I meant groupie/fan T-shirts, but I would volunteer as a roadie, too.

Keep up the great work, Ben. (No need to respond.)
