I found this photograph by chance and found it moving — one small moment of daily routine in a dark time. I’m unable to find a Life article that developed from George Strock’s photographs of this unnamed soldier.

Hmm. He's in jeans, and he's brushing his teeth. KP? He'd be in fatigues and scrubbing something.
The older I get, the more I see what children most soldiers are:
ten years before this photo was taken, this soldier was... what. Eight?
@Elaine: The photos cover a day in the life. They all have this same title.
@Fresca: Our town has a World War monument with figures (a soldier, a sailor) who look like they might be in their early teens.
