Henry has always lived in a house. (The strip shows a front door, grass, a garage.) But today he appears to be living in that darkest and most ancient of apartment-dwelling situations — “The bathroom’s at the end of the hall.” Sad.

I stayed at a place in Minnesota where you got a room with few amenities (a fan vs. air conditioner, no TV, no radio). It was kind of fun, although easy to say because no one else was on the floor. Maybe this was back in the day when neighbors were like Lucy and Ethel.
I wonder. Lucy and Ethel might even postdate the Henry world.
