Believe it or not, once on a job interview at a college, I was asked to give a lecture on punctuation to the department (it sounds like the kind of thing you are asked to do in a dream). I wracked my brain, or wrecked my brain as I read on a student paper yesterday, and finally spoke on Emily Dickinson, as she wrote her poems and as they were first edited. Needless to say, I didn't get the job.
That makes me wonder: what —what? — were they were looking for? I would've liked hearing that talk. Shame on you for being original in your approach.
