Garlic cloves and maybe dill seeds in a pickle jar?
ReplyDeleteIt appears to be some kind of marine invertebrate living inside a glass bottle.
ReplyDeleteYes, it’s pickles in progress. We did some canning yesterday. As Elaine discovered the first time she made pickles, and as I discovered last night, garlic can turn blue. Perfectly safe.
ReplyDeleteNotice the word WIDE on the jar, though I didn’t notice it until after I took the photo.
Oh — yes, they’re dill seeds. And I would strongly endorse homemade pickles (from homegrown cucumbers) — so much better than anything in the store.

Yikes to both dead eels and bad pickles. By the way, there’s an entire Andy Griffith episode about how terrible Aunt Bee’s pickles are.
