The Washington Post reports that the Food and Drug Administration will forbid the use of the word milk in the names of plant-based products: “as the head of the FDA said last week, ‘an almond doesn’t lactate.’”

Hm. Kindness doesn't lactate either. Perhaps we should no longer say "milk of human..."?

Upon hearing this news, my artist wife fired off a sketch of a mother almond breastfeeding her baby almond. It was quite heartwarming.
That’s sweet (no pun intended!). There’s almond butter as well, which contains no butter. And no one’s confused.
