In Lois and Chip’s absence, Hi has sold most of the furniture to pay for a.) college or b.) living-room expansion or c.) both. I’m not sure which.

The two middle kids don't appear to be running with glee to greet their mom. Instead they're following a line that runs to her right. Possibly toward the kitchen doorway and the cookie jar.
