We bought the wrong Gevalia coffee, Traditional Roast, not House Blend. As with toothpaste, there are just too many varieties. It is easy to err. Traditional Roast, as it turns out, tastes just fine. However:
Gevalia describes its Traditional Roast as “medium-bodied, smooth, and perfectly balanced.”
And House Blend, as “medium-bodied, smooth.”
Does Gevalia believe its House Blend to be less than perfectly balanced? Slightly askew? Off its foundation?

Good Q! But you're probably putting too much thought into it. To maximize profits, they're targeting the audience that doesn't think so much. It's a bigger audience.
I just cracked open a bag of TimmyHo beans (Tim Horton's). Bliss. (This could be a western New York and beyond thing. First Tim Horton's I found was in a casino hotel in Minnesota, Fortune Bay. Nearest Tim Horton's is in Michigan.)
I had Tim Horton’s on the road once, at a service plaza, maybe in upstate New York. Good coffee, and good donuts. But I’ve never seen his name again.
