Michael, have you ever watched the French film "Celeste" based on the memoir of Proust's maid? I wish I could get my hands on it again.There's a scene of Proust listening to a string quartet in his home. It's worth the movie just for that particular segment. I'll do more investigative work. Nice to find a fellow Proustian!
No, I mean German film "Celeste". I wished it had been in French!
Marjorie, no, I’ve not seen it. It seems to be available only as a pricey VHS. I loved reading CA’s memoir though.
