When I was in boot camp, one of the coveted assignments was to be a flag bearer - part of the honor guard. I was one of the women selected to carry our company flags during our graduation ceremony. I carried Old Glory.
This photo is a tribute to the men pictured who served with dignity and (no doubt) great pride in a time when their race was treated with disrespect. Thanks for this photo, Michael.
