Route 66 mystery guest

The character is sobering up, or refusing to. If you are a television viewer of a certain age, you have most likely seen this actress, many times. But do you recognize her here? I didn’t.

If you know, or think you do, leave your answer in the comments. (Why not?)

I want to say Dianna Rigg, but I can't confirmation that she was ever on the show.

It’s someone else.

Tippi Hedren?

She reminds me of Elizabeth Montgomery, but when I googled for images of her, I see that she has a dimple in her chin which this woman lacks.

Michael Leddy said...

Neither Hedren nor Montgomery. I’ll give the answer tomorrow if no one gets it.

Here’s a hint: this actress is probably best known for her role in a domestic comedy.

Barbara Eden is what I'm going with.

Not that I could easily spot her without her best-known character's bottle-as-home in immediate proximity, but would this be Barbara Eden?

Michael Leddy said...

Two minds with but a single thought, but no, it’s not Barbara Eden.

About the domestic comedy clue: I’m giving more help there than you might realize.

Could it be Whitney Blake?

Geo-B said...

You're right: the clue was a giveaway. Whitney Blake, a star but not THE star of Hazel?

Adair said...

Honestly, it wasn't the clue. It was frame three, the eyes. They could only belong to Whitney Blake. But for that, I wouldn't have got it. For a moment I even considered Barbara Bain.

Michael Leddy said...

Yes, it’s Whitney Blake, playing Laura Church, a character a long ways from Dorothy “Missy” Baxter. The episode, “Sheba,” aired on January 6, 1961. Later that year, Blake began her role as Mr. B’s wife.

I hope you guys noticed the pun on help.

In fact, frame 4 almost threw me off. She looks too sultry for Whitney Blake, but there you go.

Michael Leddy said...

I agree. And the first and second images seem far too modern. There’s more to Whitney Blake than I suspected.
