There are many ways to draw a plausible refrigerator, but they’re all missing from the above panel. Perhaps the beer is in a cooler in the basement?
The old can-I-borrow-a-cup-of-sugar routine isn’t very plausible either.

Is it a walk-in-freezer/cooler? Like they have at restaurants?

I think that's actually a come-on, too, which makes it even more disturbing.
Morgues have walk-in freezers too. Maybe this is where they kept discarded characters.
