Pyramide at the Louvre?
Nope. Wrong continent.
Mac Store, NYC?
That’s it, the Apple Store, 767 Fifth Avenue. I took this photograph while waiting to go up the spiral staircase. Note the upper right corner — that’s a bit of the building just south on Fifth Avenue.
I think the photo name was a clue - but it reminded me of the translucent floors at the Sigmund Samuel (we called it "Sig Sam") library at the University of Toronto. I'm sorry that I can't find a good online photo, but I recall it as an amazing place - endless wings, extensions, basements, sub-basements, etc.
The floors were an element in the film "The Paper Chase" - one can almost imagine meeting Professor Kingsfield there.
D’oh! — I forgot about the file name. I just changed it to mystery, but the evidence of my goof is right here.
Your description makes me want to see that film again. Thanks, Stephen.
Would it have been acceptable to simply say "Apple Store"?
Let’s see what the judges say. Judges?
[Pause.]
Yes, that would’ve been okay.
I wonder what it says about me that I took one look at this photo and instantly knew. I think I've been there all of two times...
I used to be SO loyal to Mac, but It's certainly dwindled these past three or four years.
It’s such a memorable design though — I think even one visit would be enough.
