This is embarrassing, but my college library was still using these when I was there in the late eighties! Things can change so quickly, can't they? My kids can't believe that not only did I not use a computer in college but they were actually discouraged by professors because of the hard-to-read dot matrix printers. Two years after I graduated I was working in an office and using a computer so it really was the tail end of an era.
