Union Iron, est. 1852, is still going. I’m glad the company signed its work.

Rothko-esque, isn't it?
Yes! It makes me think also of flags and “Neapolitan” ice cream.
Having grown up there, I'd like to be clever, but I can say only that it is nice to see something good come out of dear old dirty Decatur. It's for worse reasons, usually, that we make the papers. (Apologies to James Joyce for the stolen epithet.)
The soybean smell is what I first think of when I think of Decatur. Followed by Sufjan Stevens’s song (which doesn’t mention the smell).
No, but it does mention a woman whose step-children seem to hate her for bringing them to Decatur (and perhaps to Scovill Zoo?). One of my all-time favorite opening verses. (I also like the reference in "40 Boys in 40 Nights" by the Donnas: "have some now, save some for later/but there's no cute boys in Decatur.")
Unlike certain presidents, songwriters always tell the truth.
The city can’t catch a break! (“Chickenmobile with your rooster tail, I’ve had my fill and I know how bad it feels.”)
