Loved it as a teenager.
I tried ...Yes, Space: 1999!
Loved it as a teenager.
I tried rewatching it recently and found it unbearably restrained, as if everyone was holding their breath while they acted. The characters were on the Moon, shot out of orbit and racing away from the Earth--maybe the actors felt they didn't want to use up any extra oxygen.
Frescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15323129046492056942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343608.post-4122510853600662082017-07-17T12:27:38.300-05:002017-07-17T12:27:38.300-05:00My first exposure to Martin Landau's work was ...My first exposure to Martin Landau's work was split between "Miision: Impossible" and the 12-year old friendly "Space: 1999". Our mid-'70s TV with rabbit-ears only picked up two channels with clarity: the CBC for the former and the independent KVOS in Bellingham, WA for the latter.

Despite its hokey-ness, Landau, Barbara Bain (also from "Mission: Impossible"), and the wonderful Barry Morse made "Space: 1999" a pleasure to watch. I'd probably cringe watching it today.shallnothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12091785623505779725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343608.post-16320842456630646232017-07-17T10:49:45.398-05:002017-07-17T10:49:45.398-05:00And apparently he apprenticed as a cartoonist and ...And apparently he apprenticed as a cartoonist and was a fan of Krazy Kat!.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06485410374923842372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343608.post-55433893710871717152017-07-17T10:47:50.139-05:002017-07-17T10:47:50.139-05:00Yes, he was.Yes, he was.Michael Leddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05547732736861224886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343608.post-42181358026048543912017-07-17T10:05:32.478-05:002017-07-17T10:05:32.478-05:00He was also particularly good in Woody Allen's...He was also particularly good in Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06485410374923842372noreply@blogger.com
