Unfortunately for her, the map she had did not have a scale of miles on it, so what looked like an easy stroll turned out to be five miles in the unrelenting desert sun. Even so, she made it to her destination, somewhat wilted and none the worse for wear, loading up on souvenirs for the folks back home, including a fabulous fridge magnet for me, depicting Władziu Valentino Liberace in all his pouffy-hairpieced, ringed and (faux? surely)-fur-collared glory.normannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17358715755873851074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343608.post-86544160560866053582010-09-19T21:14:27.619-05:002010-09-19T21:14:27.619-05:00)))((((((

It is an amazing place, seriously, one of the most amazing museums in the world (and I’ve been a museum professional), and it’s very sad to see it close. The Smithsonian should take it over, or at least organise a travelling Liberace show.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05440000415609510204noreply@blogger.com
